PI-1206 Homeschool Enrollment Report (HOMER) 2018-2019

Leaving Homeschool FAQs

What if I want to re-enroll my child in a public or private school after homeschooling?

When a child enters or re-enters a public or private school after being enrolled in a home-based program, the determination of grade level placement, as well as the number of credits, if any, to be granted for courses completed in the home-based program, is the responsibility of the public or private school.

Most school districts have policies regarding home-based private education students requesting enrollment in the public school. You should contact the public or private school directly to inquire about placement policies.

If you are enrolling your children in school mid-year, you should also notify the DPI, by either:

  • Returning to the PI-1206 Homeschool Enrollment Report (HOMER) system, and changing your enrollment numbers to zeroes, OR

  • Writing or calling Diane Sullivan at (608) 267-9248 or toll-free at (888) 245-2732, extension 1, that the child is no longer enrolled in a home-based private educational program.
